I took Emma to get her first haircut yesterday. She's needed a haircut for awhile now, but after she got her stitches on her lip she hasn't liked people touching her head so I was scared about scissors near her head. But her hair really needed a trim.
So I took her to one of those places that are just for kids haircuts. She sat in a car shaped chair, with a toy cell phone to play with, and a Dora movie in front of her. She didn't even notice she was getting her haircut until they got to her bangs. They have system down there - telling the kids to look at their shoes or look at Dora to get them to move their head right. They actually then managed to put a ponytail in Emma's hair and (get this) sprinkled her with glitter. Emma got a bracelet as a prize and since it was her first haircut, we got a certificate with a hair clipping and a picture. It was all a bit over the top, but her hair is cut without a struggle and looks way better (less straggly and tangled). Just thought I'd share this momenteous occasion.
The end result.

Just wait a few years - lol my daughter loves having her haircut and has very specific instructions for the hairdresser each time (which vary a little each time because my daughter changes the style slightly each time)
If you want a general idea, this is from last summer (she's on the left, blonde)
