"The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it."
Today we celebrate the return of the light. The longest night is passed and the light returns to our land. I never paid much attention to the Solstice until I moved up north. But the return of the light, so rich in symbolic annd religious meaning, is a symbol and reality of hope. Even amidst the cold and the darkness the despair cannot win. The light shines forth, better days are ahead, life and light dwell upon the earth. Blessings and Joie this Solstice.
"The people walking in darkness have seen a great light;on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned."
